چکیده
Typhonium trilobatum is a genus in the Araceae family endemic to tropical Asia, the South Pacific, and Australia. Most of the plant parts of Typhonium trilobatum are used in traditional systems of medicine in India. According to Ayurveda, the rhizome is used with effect for treating vomiting, cough, asthma, excessive expectoration, pyogenic sore throat, headache, gastric ulcer, abcess and snake bite. The present work objectives focus on scientific exploration of anti microbial activity of whole plant of Typhonium trilobatum . The test all extracts exhibited prominent antimicrobial activity against all tested organism, where chloroform extract shown the maximum zone of inhibition. The order of antimicrobial activity of all extract are, chloroform > Methanolic >Ethyl acetate against bacteria i.e. Escherichia Coli, P. aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and S. Epidermidis and fungi i.e. Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger .

Coden: Ijpnl6 in Vitro Assessment of Antiarthritic Activity of Sphaeranthus
Present study was done to assess the in vitro antiarthritic activity of the plant Sphaeranthus amaranthoides Burm F (Asteracea). Four different extract of increasing polarity namely petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol were prepared. Antiarthritic potential of the plant was assessed by two methods namely, effect on protein denaturating and effect on membrane stabilization. Th...
متن کاملCoden: Ijpnl6 Assessment of the Antibacterial Potential of Breadfruit Leaf Extracts against Pathogenic Bacteria
Artocarpus altilis (breadfruit) leaf extracts in different solvent media (petroleum ether, methanol and ethyl acetate) were examined for the antimicrobial activity against some pathogenic bacterial species like Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus mutans and Enterococcus faecalis following the MIC (minimal inhibitory concentrations). Steroids, phytosterols, gums and resi...

Comparison of natural plant and callus extracts of Solanum trilobatum L. was studied against two bacteria and fungi, for their antimicrobial activity using cup diffusion method. Various solvents such as chloroform, petroleum ether and ethanol were used. The leaf and stem segments of the plant were culturedon Murashige and S koog basal medium supplemented with various growth regulators. Maximum ...
متن کاملCoden: Ijpnl6 Direct Root Regeneration and Indirect Organogenesis in Silybum Marianum and Preliminary Phytochemical, Antibacterial Studies of Its Callus
The morphogenic potential and free-radical scavenging activity of the medicinal plant, Silybum marianum L. (milk thistle) were investigated. Direct root regeneration and indirect organogenesis and preliminary phytochemical, antibacterial studies of its callus. From leaf explants the highly significance result was found on the NAA at 2 mg/l and KIN at 0.2 mg/l for the direct root induction and i...
متن کاملMolecular characterization of five medicinally important species of Typhonium (Araceae) through random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD).
The interrelationship of five medicinally important species of Typhonium (Araceae) including T. venosum, which was previously placed under the genus Sauromatum, was inferred by analysis of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). DNA from pooled leaf samples was isolated and RAPD analysis was performed using 20 decamer oligonucleotide primers. Out of a total of 245 bands amplified, 12 were foun...
